Medical research

For this project i need to have an extensive knowledge of the symptoms and mind thought of a person suffering from Schizophrenia. So i have been doing extensive internet research on the subject.

Schizophrenia is commonly confused with split personality disorder because the name, Schizophrenia comes from the greek word meaning "split mind" and this term was applied to the illness before it was fully understood..

The NHS defines schizophrenia as " a chronic mental health condition that causes a range of different psychological symptoms. These include:

  • hallucinations - hearing or seeing things that do not exist, and
  • delusions - believing in things that are untrue.

Hallucinations and delusions are often referred to as psychotic symptoms or symptoms of psychosis. Psychosis is when somebody is unable to distinguish between reality and their imagination."
